Message to Moderator

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is my blog for my G324 Media Portfolio. On this blog you will find my music video accompanied by my ancillary texts, as well as several research, planning and construction tasks I completed in order to help me produce my final products. I worked individually for this coursework, therefore everything you find is entirely my own work.

I have used page tabs for each of the different stages of the coursework which should hopefully make it easier to navigate around my blog and find certain posts. My final music video, advert and digipak are all under the tab 'Final Products'.

Thank you for taking the time to read to read this message and I hope you enjoy my blog.

Regards,

Alex

Making my Evaluation

For my evaluation I decided to do a documentary to show all four evaluation questions in one media form. However, I also inserted several videos, screen recordings, images and sound files over the top of the main video of me answering the questions.

This is my evaluation in Final Cut. As you can see from this print screen taken from Final Cut software there are a lot of overlays which should help make the video more interesting and collaborate different forms of media.

Evaluation Documentary

This is my evaluation for my coursework which I decided to do in documentary form. This includes all four questions split up into one long video. I have separated these using text showing the title of the question so it is not confusing for the audience. I have also tried to incorporate images, videos and screen recordings to make the video more interesting (as it is over 37 minutes long) and to join different media forms together.

Final Video

This is my final music video for my A2 coursework.
Obviously there were a lot of rough cuts and complete cuts that helped to contribute towards the final version but this is the cut that I am completely satisfied with.

Evaluation Notes

These are my notes for my 4 evaluation questions. Before filming the answers and beginning to present my ideas in the form of a documentary I had to write these answers so I knew what I was going to say. I think this helped well. In the presenting stage I will try my best to not just read the answers on this document when facing the camera as I think this will make it quite boring but I will refer back to these answers if I do get stuck.

As you can also see I have wrote a lot for each answer (the most I have written is for the first one but this is because I personally believe this is the most detailed question that needs most focus and attention on.) However this is because if I am speaking these answers I need each answer to last a decent amount of time otherwise the overall evaluation will not last very long. If this issue does occur I will have to improvise and say more spontaneously.

There are also sections in these notes that I have missed out simply because I will insert other technologies in these spaces. For example, question 3 is dependant on a lot of print screens to show audience feedback therefore most of the answer I have written will be played as sound over the top while the visuals are on screen.

I also plan to interview one of my actors in this evaluation in question one, which will make it more interesting as it will be getting an opinion of someone who I worked with in the process of the video and who hadn't had much to say yet about its concept and ideas. They also haven't yet seen my blog and all my other work so they cannot be influenced with the ideas I already have.
